THE SUPERNATURAL ENDUEMENT The baptism of the Holy Ghost, promised by Jesus to His believing disciples, was to endue them with POWER FOR SERVICE. There are many works of the Holy Ghost, too numerous to mention here. He draws the believer to God in the first place. He reveals the Father. He develops holiness in the life of the believer. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is to endue the believer with POWER TO WITNESS: “And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Luke 24:48,49. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me.” Acts 1:8a.
