THE WARRIOR'S LIFESTYLE

Spiritual warfare is part of the victorious Christian lifestyle. After the anointing of the Holy Spirit came on Jesus, He rebuked evil spirits, faced Satan, healed the sick, raised the dead, rebuked storms, and spoiled principalities and powers. Spiritual warfare is part of Christianity, and the spiritual warfare is not over. Historically, the rise and fall of spiritual power within the Church of Christ have been related to the acknowledgment and opposition toward demonic principalities and powers. As leaders recognized the spiritual warfare caused by demon powers they equipped believers to use their delegated spiritual authority to fight back. When leaders ignored the dark rulers of this world believers and the Church suffered. You are in a spiritual war whether you want to be or not. Jesus did not ignore demon powers, and he didn’t teach his apostles to ignore them either (Matthew 10:1). The Apostle Paul taught the church in Ephesus how to battle saying, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that ye may be able to withstand (fight back) in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians 6:10-13) Warriors wear armor. Armor is for the fighting man. Paul likens spiritual opposition to warfare. He teaches five important truths. Christ’s followers should be strong in the Lord. Be full of spiritual power. Evil spirits have methods and strategies. The battle is spiritual, not natural. Spiritual warriors wear the armor of God. A battle ready lifestyle. The Apostle Paul knew much about the spiritual opposition against him. “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me and there are many adversaries” (1 Corinthians 16:9). He continually uses warfare terms when teaching and training leaders. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” (1 Timothy 6:12) A GOOD SOLDIER “Thou, therefore, endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” (2 Timothy 2:3) STAY FREE “No man that warreth entangles himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” (2 Timothy 2:4) WAR A GOOD WARFARE “This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare.” (1 Timothy 1:18) WAR NOT AFTER THE FLESH “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:” (2 Corinthians 10:3) SPIRITUAL WEAPONS  “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. “ (2 Corinthians 10:4) You are a warrior. Speak to those storms, mountains, and giants that get in your way. Occupy till He comes.

PRAYER FOR THE SICK

Prayer for the sick is important. When you need healing in your body there are certain things you need to do including a prayer for healing. First, understand that your heavenly father loves you. When sickness attacks there are some things you need to know. Let's take a look. Christ gave his disciples a mandate to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick (Luke 9:2). That assignment has not changed. Scripture declares, “By His stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24). And there is no doubt that thousands of people are healed by the power of God every year. I have seen many healed by the power of prayer and the Holy Spirit. You probably have too. Some were healed in an instant and others healing manifested later. For some, however, there was an all-out battle against sickness. Maybe that’s what you are facing right now. Perhaps you are one of those that didn’t get an instant healing and are in a real war against sickness. Be encouraged, the word of God will prevail for you.The spiritual battle for physical healing is real and I’m sure you’re doing everything you know to do. Here is a little healing help’s list of things for you to consider.{loadmodule mod_custom,Holy Spirit Led} HEALING HELP’S LIST FORGIVENESS Unforgiveness could hinder your healing. Sometimes it’s hard to forgive those that really hurt you, but ask the Holy Spirit to help. You forgive others by choosing to forgive them. “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. And when you stand praying, forgive, if you have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” (Mark 11:24-25) CONFESSION Keep on saying it. Keep on repeating the healing promises of God over your life. This can be hard sometimes especially when you’re tired or in pain. Nevertheless, hold fast to the Word of God. Keep on saying it! “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering (for he is faithful that promised.)”(Hebrews 10:23) PATIENCE Give the Word of God some time to finish the healing work in your body. “Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” (James 1:3-4) GUARD THE WORD The healing word of God is a seed sown in your heart. That’s where the word will sprout, grow, and finish its work. Christ said that Satan would try to steal that seed of healing from you. Don’t let him. “And these are they by the wayside, where the word is sown, but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.” (Mark 4:15) IGNORE FEELINGS It’s easy to believe God when you’re feeling good. Feelings, however, have nothing to do with the power of the Word of God. Some feel something happening and some don’t. Ignore how you feel. Only believe. “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7) LISTEN TO THE WORD When you are battling for physical healing fill the atmosphere with the word of God. Turn that television and radio off, get that audio player out, and fill your room with the word of God. “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” (Psalms 19:14) BIND IMAGINATIONS Vain imaginations will attack your mind. Don’t entertain them. When they come bind them up and cast them down. “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5) STAY IN FAITH Spiritual battles start the minute you take God at His word. When you are in the war for physical healing there will be a battle. You can’t escape it. Nevertheless, the word of God will prevail. “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11) ASSOCIATIONS When you are in a spiritual battle, some people have no faith. Their doubt and unbelief can hurt you. Some of these people could be close friends or family members. We love them, but we have to be careful around them. “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?” (Isaiah 53:1) These are just a few things for you to consider. Let’s pray, Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Thank you for healing my brothers and sisters in Christ. We believe that by your stripes we are healed. Your word declares, “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them” (Psalms 107:20). We lay hold of your word sown in our hearts, a supernatural seed of healing that will finish its work. We bind up every unbelieving thought, and vain imaginations, and hold fast to the profession of our faith, nothing wavering. Thank you, Lord, that we will stand before men and declare the wonderful works of our God. In Jesus Name, we pray. Amen. Here are some Scriptures to meditate on. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."(Isaiah 53:4-5) "O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me."(Psalms 30:2) "Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."(Psalms 107:19-20) "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh."(Proverbs 4:20-22) "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."(James 5:14-15) "And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses." (Matthew 8:14-17) "Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise."(Jeremiah 17:14) "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them."(Matthew 21:12-14) "Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them."(Luke 4:40).

DECLARE​ HIS WORD

Words have the power of life and death. Words are destinations. Words are involved in every new season in your life. You have learned that your tongue steers your life. You have also discovered your authority to decree a thing. Scripture says, ““Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways” (Job 22:28).

Here are some declarations. Speak these over your life with expectation.

I DECREE the keys of the kingdom of heaven have been given to me, and whatsoever I bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatsoever I loose on earth is loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:19)

I DECREE no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against me in judgment shall be condemned. (Isaiah 54:17)

I DECREE I am blessed coming in and blessed going out. I am the head and not the tail, above only, and not beneath. (Deuteronomy 28:13)

I DECREE I am strong in the Lord and the power of His might as I put on the whole armor of God and stand against all the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11)

I DECREE my steps are ordered every day by the Lord. (Psalm 37:23)

I DECREE all things work together for my good because I love God and are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

I DECREE God is my refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. (Psalms 46:1)

I DECREE God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

I DECREE the LORD renews my strength; I mount up with wings as eagles; I run, and shall not be weary, walk, and faint not. (Isaiah 40:31)

I DECREE the favor of God. If God be for me, who can be against me? (Romans 8:31)

I DECREE I give and it shall be given back to me; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, shall men give into my bosom. (Luke 6:38)

I DECREE I delight myself in the LORD and he gives me the desires of my heart. (Psalms 37:4)

I DECREE I have the peace of God that passes all understanding. (Philippians 4:7)

I DECREE I am a believer with signs follow me. In the Name of Jesus I cast out devils, speak with new tongues, take up serpents, and if I drink any deadly thing it will not harm me; I lay hands on the sick, and they recover. (Mark 16:17-19)

I DECREE greater is He that lives in me than he that lives in the world. (1 John 4:4)

I DECREE My God supplies all of my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

I DECREE by His stripes, I am healed. (1 Peter 2:24)

I DECREE I am born of God, and the evil one cannot touch me. (1 John 5:18)

I DECREE I call on the Lord and He answers me and shows me great and mighty things I know not of. (Jeremiah 33:3)

I DECREE I have been given the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt me. (Luke 10:19)

I DECREE God gives me the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places that I may know that the LORD is God. (Isaiah 45:3)

I DECREE God is not a man that he should lie to me, neither the son of man that he should change His mind. The things he has said, he will do, and the things he has spoken he will make good. (Numbers 23:19)

I DECREE wealth and riches shall be in my house because I fear the Lord. (Psalm 112:3)

I DECREE the kingdom of God come, in my life, family, marriage, ministry, relationships, and work. (Matthew 6:10)

I DECREE I am satisfied with the words of mouth because life and death are in the power of my tongue. (Proverbs 18:20)

LANGUAGE OF ANGELS

 “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:1-4).

Speaking in other tongues had never happened before and couldn’t because the day of Pentecost could not fully come until after the resurrection of Christ. This is one of the greatest events in history. It’s the day the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Church. It was also the fulfillment of Christ’s promise, “For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence” (Acts 1:5). How do we know people were baptized with the Holy Spirit? They began to speak with other tongues (Acts 2:4; 10:46; 19:6 ).

What is speaking in other tongues? The Apostle Paul had much to say about speaking in tongues. He taught speaking in tongues was:

TALKING WITH GOD

“For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” (1 Corinthians 14:2)

EDIFYING YOURSELF

“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself… “(1 Corinthians 14:4)

YOUR-SPIRIT PRAYING

“For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. “ (1 Corinthians 14:14)

LANGUAGE OF ANGELS

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels…” (1 Corinthians 13:1)

The tongue is used for speaking. Without a tongue you would be mute and unable to form words. The baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues is a supernatural event that connects your tongue to your spirit.

All language is an assembly of words that form communication. Praying in other tongues is such a language. Speaking in an unknown tongue is your spirit having a direct conversation with God. Scripture declares, “For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people” (Isaiah 28:11).

NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS

There was a certain man named Cornelius. The Bible says he was a praying man that loved God and gave much alms to help the poor. The Holy Spirit sent Peter to minister to him and his household. When Peter arrived, he declared, “Of a truth, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him” (Acts 10:34-35). As Peter ministered the Word to the people, something amazing happened. Scripture says,

"While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days” (Acts 10:43-48).

GIFTED PRAYER

Something similar happened in the Apostle Paul’s ministry when he found certain Disciples at Ephesus. After meeting them he asked them a very important question, “Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost” (Acts 19:2).

This meeting was twenty years after the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out on those gathered in the Upper Room.

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4)

Those meeting with the Apostle Paul had not heard about the gift of the Holy Spirit, they were only baptized in water. Then Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Ghost came on them, and they spoke with other tongues and prophesied” (Acts 19:6).

Praying in other tongues is a spiritual language and the highest form of communication available to you. It won’t help you renew your mind, but it will help you pray effectively. When you pray in an unknown tongue your spirit, not your mind, speaks directly with the Holy Spirit. Learn to take full advantage of this marvelous gift.

world in handsWords are destinations. God’s words are His destinations. The word destination is firmly tied to the word destiny. Destiny is a place in the future, your future. It is the ultimate end of a determined course, an expected end.

You have heard many times that God has a plan for your life. That’s true, and the shortest way to find that plan is to understand the power of the word of God to get you moving in the right direction. The plan of God for your life is hidden in the words of life and waiting for your discovery. Discovery is important because all of God’s plans for you are connected to his words.

Words are destinations. Words have cause and effect. Words root out. Words pull down. Words destroy. Words throw down. Words build and words plant. This is what the Lord taught the young Jeremiah as he entered his prophetic ministry (Jeremiah 1:10).

The prophet’s ministry revolves around the use of words. A prophet is a spokesman for God. Three words describe, in simplicity, the prophet’s ministry. Those words are hearing, seeing, and saying. Everything the Prophet does will involve words. Words he hears, words he sees, and words he speaks. You may not be a prophet, but words will play a significant role in your life.

Words are paths, highways, and bridges toward a destination. Words can be received, and words can be sent. Words can be ignored, and words can be embraced. There are carnal words, and there are spiritual words.

Jesus described His words as living words full of spiritual life. He said, “It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).

FINDING DESTINY

Your world changes when you decide to change. The beginning of your spiritual life starts with the transforming power of the word of God to change the way you think. The only way to change the way you think is to change your thoughts.

Words are the expression of thoughts, ideas, and how you see things. To change your thoughts means to exchange lifeless words with life-giving words. By changing the way you think an exchange takes place, you stop thinking like an ordinary man and start thinking like God. You are not God and will never be God, but you can start thinking like God by abiding in his words. As already said, words are destinations to a determined course, an expected end. The process of discovering the power of words starts with this Scripture,

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2).
Process is the necessary action required to achieve a desired result. Not only is the Bible a book of words, it is also a book of instruction. Instruction describes how something is done. Some want sympathy, not instruction. Not you. You’re hungry for change. Obedience to instruction activates the process needed to reach your destination. In other words, the instruction you obey determines the benefits you receive, the experience you have with God, and your course in life.

POWER OF FIRST

Jesus taught his Disciples the importance of putting the Kingdom of God and his righteousness first as the Father’s way of meeting their needs. He said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). God’s word is his righteousness (Psalm 119:160).

Abraham showed us the path of righteousness, “For what saith the Scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness (Romans 4:3).

First is a primary word. First is everything above second. First is before anything else. Nothing ever gets in the way of first. First is first. Some think putting the kingdom of God first was fulfilled the day they were born again. This belief is not true and is unfortunate and limiting. Salvation makes you ready. Salvation is the beginning of your journey as you move from carnal thinking to spiritual thinking. One can be born again and never walk in the daily benefits of their salvation. That only begins by putting the kingdom of God and his righteousness first. That’s why Scripture teaches to change the way you think to “prove (scrutinize for yourself) what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2).

THREE LEVELS OF MATURITY

Let’s take a look at these three words: good, acceptable, and perfect. These indicate three levels of a renewed mind.

LEVEL ONE

“Good” (Greek agathos, beneficial).

In level one, as you change the way you think, you begin to see the will of God as beneficial for personal wellbeing and achievement. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Yet some never consider the value of the word of God for everyday living. It’s the applied word of God in your life that gets you moving in the right direction.

LEVEL TWO

“Acceptable” (Greek euarestos, entirely agreeable, well pleasing, and satisfying).

In level two, you discover the will of God imparting an intense sense of personal satisfaction. At this level, you not only view the word of God as beneficial but have proven it to be increasingly gratifying. At this level your hunger for more of the word of God in your life multiplies.

LEVEL THREE

“Perfect” (Greek teleios, complete, perfect, full age, mature).

Level three is full spiritual maturity. This person puts the will of God above his own. This level consists of the sons (Greek uihos) of God led by the Spirit of God. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14). Here you no longer struggle with putting the kingdom of God and his righteousness first. You have discovered the fullness of the will of God for your life is found in the word of God. At this level, it’s not about you anymore, it’s all about Him. At this level you understand that success in life and ministry is found in doing what God has called you to do. Everything else is vanity.

LAW SAYINGS AND SPIRITUAL JURISDICTIONS

The kingdom of God is governed by the word of God and nothing else. The kingdom of God is a domain within a jurisdiction, a jurisdiction throughout the heavens and the earth. Scripture describes the reach of God’s kingdom.

“Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is” (Deuteronomy 10:14).
“All that therein is” means everything. This is important. Christ’s kingdom is not confined or limited. Some teach His kingdom has not come and is everywhere but here. This is not so. The kingdom of God is all around you, and everything is subject to his word. There should be no debate, Christ is the creator of all and all fall within his domain. Jesus said the kingdom of God is in you (Luke 17:21).
The earth indeed lies within the jurisdiction of Christ. The English word jurisdiction is from two Latin words, juris and diction. Juris means law and diction means sayings. In other words, the kingdom of God is ruled by the law sayings of Christ, the word of God.

All that falls within the jurisdiction of Christ (all creation) is governed by his law sayings. Jesus demonstrated that the earthly realm had no choice but to submit to his words. For example, Christ spoke to a storm, and it gave up and quit.

“And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:35-39).
Not only does the natural realm submit to the Word but also the unseen spirit world as seen when Jesus cast out an unclean demon spirit in a man during a church service.

“And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the Sabbath days. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him and hurt him not. And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! For with authority and power, he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out” (Luke 4:31-36).
These two examples testify to the supreme authority of the word of God over both the natural and spiritual realm. As already said, the kingdom of God is governed by the word of God and nothing else. To govern is to bring into conformity with the laws of the king.
